Cancelations in the Quran
For many folks (all folks really) reading the Quran can be quite a challenge. You will find some things that might seem peaceful and other things that would be violent. To understand which one is true for now, you must know which one came later.
Often when witnessing to Muslims, they will confidently state that we have four gospels and that they have one Quran. Although that is not entirely accurate. (See video at end)
Most Muslims that I see on a day to day basis do not realise this and so they quote verses as they support their stance.
You can find verses that say that Christians and Jews do not have anything to fear on the last day of judgement. (5:69)
But then right before that you will find a verse commanding Muslims not to have Christian or Jewish friends. (5:51)
These contradictions are very good to point out to whoever you are talking to. There are many verses like this that paint the picture that God can’t make up His mind. Finally here is the reason (from the Quran)
Whatever a Verse do We abrogate or a verse to be forgotten, We bring a better one or similar to it. Know you not that Allah is able to do all things?
Muslims have a belief that the Quran was with God in the beginning, if so why does He change His mind? Does God allow something that was forbidden one day to be allowed the next?
Here is the video I spoke about earlier in reference to multiple Qurans.
