How Islam tries to keep people from leaving
The most obvious way Islam tries to keep its people from leaving in mass is by threatening to kill them. Apostasy in Islam is a criminal offence that can get you killed in a lot of countries today.
Islam has some other tactics up her sleeve. Another tactic is to try and isolate.
“O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as friends, they are but friends of each other. And if any amongst you takes them then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not them… ” Quran 5:51
Now, why would Muhammad have wanted to keep his people from talking to the Christians and Jews?
Muhammad said to the people that Jesus said, “After me is coming a prophet named Ahmed – follow him.”
The problem is, if Jesus never said these words than Muhammad was never a prophet from God. For this reason, he was afraid that if the Muslims mingled with the Christians they would learn the truth and turn their backs on him.
Another example:
Let not the believers take the disbelievers as friends, instead of the believers and whoever does that will never be helped by Allah in any way, except if you indeed fear a danger from them. And Allah warns you against Himself and to Allah is the final return. “Quran 3:28
“O you who believe! If you obey a group of those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians), they would render you disbelievers after you have believed!” Quran 3:100
Well all though all that is find and dandy, that can make it somewhat difficult to get into conversations with Muslims. Mostly, you will find most folks are ignorant to these commands. Sometimes they are useful to bring up when a Muslim tells you how he loves everyone and how he has Christian friends. This is an easy way to show him that he is living a lie.
We can see some more of the tactics in future articles.
