Fear not
“The man who fears dying dies 100 times” Charlie Chan
It is very true when it comes to evangelism, that fears sometimes can play a big role in what we do and do not do in ministry. There are of course many risks. The quote I cited, is not simply about death – it is about even “small deaths” or even “financial deaths” or perhaps “reputation deaths”.
Often times, we try and rationalize things in a way as to really excuse ourselves. We might be afraid of loosing our job by witnessing to someone, so we will never try and in a way die a little.
We might then spend days or months or even years, wondering what could have happened.
The same is true for many other areas. For example, perhaps you wanted to go to Tunisia right now. You might wonder, well I should wait and see if things get better. Only to find out that 5 years from now things got worse and you missed your window of opportunity.
Therefore, go out today! Do something. Today only happens once and then it is gone.
Psalm 118:6
The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
