The Gospel of Peace v.s the Quran

Often times, I have heard of Missionologists (an expert in missions – no it is not a real word) who say that we must build bridges to Islam. I myself find myself more and more prone to building wedges and hammering them in on visits.

There seems to be a trend more and more for Muslims to try and paint Muhammad as someone similar to Jesus. They try and paint a picture of a loving / heroic man.

Often times, I have found that Muslims are completely ignorant to different parts of Islam.

For example, they say that cutting someone’s hands off for theft is anti Islamic, yet the Quran specifically states,”As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands. It is the reward of their own deeds, an exemplary punishment from Allah. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” Surah 6  Al Maidah verse 38

” ???????????? ?????????????? ???????????? ????????????? ?????? ????? ??????? ???????? ????? ?????? ???????? ??????? ???????”

It is good to talk about these things and talk about the difference in the Gospel. You will find most references can be taken from Matthew 5.

If anyone sues you to take away your coat, let him have your cloak also. 41 Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. 42 Give to him who asks you, and don’t turn away him who desires to borrow from you.”

Another example would be apostasy. Go through and read with them the latter part of John 6. Once you get to verse 66

66 At this, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

Next ask them what the punishment for apostasy is in Islam (death). Ask them what they though Jesus did.

67 Jesus said therefore to the twelve, “You don’t also want to go away, do you?”

Jesus gave them freedom to come or go.

Other ideas would be to go through adultery, or “eye for an eye tooth for a tooth”, there are many ideas. It is not hard to do. Mostly you can find most of the material in Matthew 5. This is real easy to use when you are doing a home visit.
